- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup jalapeños, diced (fresh or pickled)
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
- 1 package of ready-to-bake burger buns (8 count)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook chicken in boiling water seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder for about 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. Shred the chicken.
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and optional hot sauce until creamy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut tops off buns and hollow them out slightly.
- Fill each bun generously with the chicken mixture and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush melted butter over the tops of the buns and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add more jalapeños or hot sauce.
- These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
