Description

A deliciously cheesy and garlic-infused bread topped with shrimp, perfect for sharing!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large baguette or Italian loaf
  • 1 pound (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups (200g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup (50g) Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preparation of Shrimp: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  2. Garlic Butter Preparation: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.

  3. Bread Preparation: Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Lay both halves cut side up on a baking sheet.

  4. Assembling: Brush the garlic butter generously over the cut sides of the bread. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each half. Distribute cooked shrimp over the cheese layer. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

  5. Baking: Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and bread edges are golden.

  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley. Slice and serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Consider adding a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a sprinkle of chili flakes for an extra zing.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or gouda for a unique flavor.
  • To speed up the recipe, use pre-cooked shrimp.
  • Always ensure shrimp are cooked thoroughly until they are opaque and pink.
