Description

A delicious blind baked pie crust that can be used for various pie fillings.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450 °F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and vanilla together.
  3. Mix in the eggs, then the cornmeal, whipping and vinegar until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pie plate.
  5. Place the pie plate on a baking sheet.
  6. Place in the oven and immediately turn the temperature down to 350 °F.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is browned and the pie is set.
  8. Let cool completely, then cut and serve topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
