A delicious cherry custard pie with a creamy filling and flaky crust.

- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and poke a few holes in the bottom with a fork.
- If using fresh cherries, wash, pit, and halve them. If using frozen cherries, ensure they’re thawed and drained.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
- Evenly distribute the cherries in the prepared pie crust.
- Gently pour the custard mixture over the cherries.
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until the custard is set and the top is golden.
- Allow the cake to cool on a wire rack. Serve either chilled or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream.
