Description

A delicious cherry custard pie with a creamy filling and flaky crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and poke a few holes in the bottom with a fork.
  3. If using fresh cherries, wash, pit, and halve them. If using frozen cherries, ensure they’re thawed and drained.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
  5. Evenly distribute the cherries in the prepared pie crust.
  6. Gently pour the custard mixture over the cherries.
  7. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until the custard is set and the top is golden.
  8. Allow the cake to cool on a wire rack. Serve either chilled or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream.
