Description

Delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies loaded with nuts and dried fruit.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins or cranberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract; beat until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, mixed nuts, and dried fruit until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges but soft in the center. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • For chewy cookies, do not overbake.
  • You can substitute the mixed nuts with your favorite nuts or omit them entirely.
