Description

A delicious loaded nachos platter topped with cheese, ground beef, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g tortilla chips
  • 200g cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 250g ground beef
  • 1 cup black beans, canned, drained
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 12 jalapeños, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning to the beef, stirring well to combine. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Layer the Nachos: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread half of the tortilla chips on a large baking tray or oven-safe platter. Layer half of the shredded cheese over the chips. Add half of the cooked ground beef and black beans on top of the cheese. Add another layer of chips and repeat the layering process with the remaining cheese, beef, and beans.
  3. Bake: Place the prepared nachos in the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  4. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove from the oven. Top with diced tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, sour cream, cilantro, and green onions. Squeeze lime juice over the top for a zesty kick.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a layer of refried beans or queso sauce between the chip layers.
  • Experiment with different cheeses, such as Monterey Jack or pepper jack, for more variety.
  • Use fresh jalapeños for a spicy kick or opt for pickled jalapeños for a milder flavor.
  • Serve with additional salsa or guacamole on the side for dipping.
