Description

Delicious apple cinnamon donuts made with puff pastry, perfect for a warm treat!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 large apples
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Slice the apples crosswise into rounds about ¾ inch thick.
  4. Use a small round cutter or corer to remove the seeds from each apple slice.
  5. Roll out each puff pastry sheet and cut into strips about 1 inch wide.
  6. Place one apple slice at the end of a pastry strip and roll the strip around the apple slice to form a spiral “donut.”
  7. Repeat with all apple slices.
  8. Brush the tops with lightly beaten egg and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Place the donuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 18–20 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Serve with caramel sauce for dipping.
