- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 medium apples, diced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar for topping
Instructions
- Thaw puff pastry in the fridge until pliable, about 1–2 hours.
- Roll out pastry and cut into rectangles.
- In a bowl, mix apples with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
- Let apple mixture sit for 10 minutes.
- Spoon filling onto one side of each pastry rectangle.
- Slice slits in the top half (optional) and fold over, sealing the edges.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle coarse sugar on top.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature.
