Description

A delicious slow-cooked beef and broccoli dish that is perfect served over rice or noodles.


Ingredients

  • lb flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup beef stock
  • ¼ cup stir-fry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water (for slurry)
  • 10 oz. broccoli florets
  • cooked rice or noodles (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Add the sliced beef, diced onion, garlic, beef stock, stir-fry sauce, and brown sugar to the slow cooker. Stir gently to combine.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, until the beef is tender.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water until smooth.
  4. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  5. Add the broccoli florets during the final 30 minutes of cooking. Cover and continue cooking until the broccoli is tender but still bright green.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
